06.12.2024 – HESS PROJECT MEETING

On December 6, 2024, a meeting of the project „Hybrid energy storage system using post-mining infrastructure” was held at the leader’s headquarters – ITPE. The meeting was attended by representatives of the project partners: Silesian University of Technology, KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology, Premogovnik Velenje d.o.o. from Slovenia and the Institute of Energy and Fuel Processing Technology.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the results of the work carried out in WP.3. „Energy storage in pumped storage systems” and WP.4. „Energy storage in compressed gas systems”, including the achievement of Milestone MS.3. „System analysis for compressed air storage system”, Deliverable.3.2. „Technical parameters of the example underground water reservoir model” and Deliverable.4.1. „Thermodynamic analysis of the proposed systems”.

In addition, the progress of work in WP.5. „Heat storage in post-mining infrastructure” and WP.6. „Hybridization of energy storage systems in postmining infrastructure” were presented. Organizational matters regarding further progress of the project were widely discussed.
